Also known as the Blood Lily, Scadoxus Katherinae is a bulbous plant with wavy-edged bright green leaves. In Summer it explodes into flower with a large ball of hundreds of tiny densely-packed red florets. Scadoxus attract birds and butterflies to your garden. It loves partial to full shade in a moist but well drained rich soil (avoid it drying out completely). It is also suitable for growing in pots. Grows to approx 60-80 cm. In cooler climates it is likely to have a dormant period during winter. Protect from frost. Dormant in winter.
