It is a vigorous, spreading herbaceous perennial. White flowers in summer are followed by bright orange-red fruits surrounded by inflated orange calyces. Needs to be kept within bounds. Grows to approx 60 cm high. Delights in free loose soil in semi shade. Excellent dried.
