Also known as the Butterfly Amaryllis, Hippeastrum papilio definitely makes a statement in the garden. Its large stunning flowers have greenish-white tepals. The top tepals have streaks/stripes of dark marron/brown, which slowly disappears in the lower tepals. Flowering in late winter-spring, this semi-evergreen has 2 to 3 flowers per stem. Avoid full sun, as light sun or partial shade is preferred. Grows to approx 50 - 60cm.
