Also known as Orchid Cactus, because of their stunning blooms, Epiphyllums have flat, fleshy stems with serrated edges. Their blooms, though only short lived, are between 8 - 16 cm in diameter and have a colour range of white thru to red. Best kept within temperatures of between 7 and 21 degrees, they are frost tender and prefer to not have full sun. In their native home (the tropical areas of Central and South America), they live in trees, therefore they have very low nutrient needs. Their main requirement is humidity. Great for hanging baskets. Grows to approx 40 - 80cm.
