Aspidistra are rhizomatous, evergreen perennials which grow to approx 60 cm to 1 mtr high. Their Dark green, leathery, elliptic or lance-shaped leaves form upright clumps with inconspicuous brownish flowers borne on the rhizome. Aspidistra elatior also make lovely indoor plants.
